Irrigation Systems

A
great addition to the Fiddleback Ranch is the 240 acres of alpha/grass hay
meadows which are
irrigated by 4 circular pivots. After the pivots were installed, hay
production increased dramatically as time and labor was cut in half. There
are two reservoirs on the ranch that go along with the water rights from the Greybull
River and Upper Sunshine Reservoir. Three of the four pivots are
controlled in an enclosed pump house where the water is supplied from either
reservoir or directly from the river. The remaining pivot is gravity fed
from the upper local reservoir. There is an additional 150 acres of ground
that is irrigated through hand sprinkler systems or ditches.
